4 things you should know

  1. By some estimates, more than 60% of Americans report feeling lonely on a regular basis. In short, if you feel lonely, you are not alone.

  2. People who experience loneliness sometimes come to believe that there must be something wrong with them. They are wrong: there isn’t.

  3. When people feel lonely, they tend to withdraw rather than reach out, creating a cycle that leads to fewer friend connections and more loneliness.

  4. While much has been written about the loneliness epidemic, there is little practical, tactical advice for nurturing the kind of friendships that are key to the happiest and longest life. Now there is.

learn to create connections, find friends, & have more fun

On April 11 a special group of women will join me for a 6-week workshop covering not just the “why” but, more importantly, the “how” to create the community of friends that will add fun, vibrancy and greater longevity to their lives.

Together, we will explore:

  • The five circles of friendship, why you need them all and how to create each;

  • How to be a friend to attract friends (spoiler alert: it’s pretty simple: all you need to do is practice becoming an interested listener and have some fun);

  • How to go first and what to say;

  • The Benjamin Franklin effect and why Abe Lincoln was right;

  • Potential friends to be wary of;

  • Why brunch is best and walking is better; and

  • When it is time to let a relationship go.

We will explore these essential topics together with a small, trusted group who are likely to grow to become your very first circle.

What’s Included?

Your $199 registration gets you more than $750 in value:

  • Two one-on-one coaching sessions with Joyce (a $400 value)

  • Six online sessions exploring the why’s and the hows of creating community and fostering friendships after 50 — join live on Thursday evenings or watch on demand at your convenience (a $300 value);

  • Weekly worksheets, references and tactics that will guide you toward the first steps of creating your circles (a $50 value);

  • The chance to practice these new skills in an intimate and trusted cohort (priceless);
