How to Kick Off A New Month

I love what feels like a fresh start and a clean slate and the start of the month always feels that way to me. Here are three things I do to kick off the month.

1. I rewrite the ten things on my dream list. Yes, I have a list of ten things that I will have in my dream life. When I first developed the list, which took several weeks to get right, I realized that at least half of them were things I could have right away, just by changing my perspective or where I put my attention.

2. I review my goals for the year to be sure that they remain my goals and to be sure I am moving forward toward them. Sometimes, my goals for the year change, and I’m okay with that.

3. I set goals for the month, which are typically elements or steps toward those annual goals, which are steps toward my dream life. All of these things should align and if they don’t, well, that means something’s not right, either a sail needs to be adjusted or a destination recalibrated.

Now, I know this might sound like a lot. A lot of work and a lot of intention. It is neither. It takes me anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, which doesn’t seem like a whole lotta' time to invest to be sure that you are living your life in a way that aligns with your dreams, your priorities and your goals.
